Burning Half a Million Korans

My response To TF:

Thunderfoot, this is not a good idea. Sorry. DMD was a great concept, and, though there was a result, it was immature and simply pissed people off. The pastor did the same thing. Great concept (though I'd never burn ANY book), but it was immature, and pissed people off. Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. The burn a Koran on a hard drive idea WOULD be effective, but they would not care since it is the physical form of the Koran that matters to them, not a digital one.

Also, none of this makes any sense. Why are we going out of our way to piss off dangerous people? Would a kid steal his bullies toy and break it in front of him? No, he'd just get his ass kicked, and rightfully so. What must be done is just as worldwide. We must show these people what's inherently wrong with their faith, and do so en mass. Do as bananaman did with the Origin Of Life. Go digital if you want, and add a prologue to the Koran, and footnotes to every page, and send it out.

... No. The bullies are the ones that the world needs to see are at fault.
Free country burn what ever you like.
If they want to go kill people over a fucking book. Only the insane followers of that book would think it was rightfully so.

  2. If you were trying to convince a child that Santa did not exist, would you grab a Santa toy and through it in a fire, laughing? Of course not! We are dealing with zealots. This means we are dealing with a child mind. We must find a way to show them the difference between fantasy and reality, not taunt them like children ourselves.

  3. missing the point. We'll never convince them god isn't real.

The point isn't to convince them of anything.
We have freedoms and they can cry and do horrid things all they like.

Freedom beats those trying to silence it.

  4. No, I got your point, and if someone feels like burning a koran or a bible, I say go for it, have a blast. Doing so will not have any effect however, besides provoking these people to fight. That's all they understand. This does not help anyone.

They either need to be shown the error of their ways, which is highly unlikely for most of them, or they must be conquered, by someone with the balls to outlaw their religeous practices. Sadly, the only power strong enough to do so would be the U.S. most likely. This means that the only motivation would be to replace that faith with christianity.... I can't tell you which is worse.

Which do you think is the most dangerous religion?

If you had to choose one and only one religion to survive, which would you allow?
