Bill Nye to Climate Change Deniers: You Can’t Ignore Facts Forever

Nice bow-tie. Bow-ties are cool.

He brings up a fair point. 'We wouldn't have such a debate now.' Is this because back then more people believed it, or because there was less evidence to the contrary? I think it's more the latter. I think a debate can simply be vetoed once enough evidence comes up to shoot down the other side completely.

Evolution should no longer be subject to debate. The evidence is overwhelming. Climate change should no longer be subject to debate. The evidence is overwhelming. When we give someone ignorant about a subject a soap box to stand on, it makes them feel like what they are saying is important, interesting, and valid. It isn't. It makes everyone watching feel like both views have some merit, and it's a coin toss as to who will 'win'.

Before you tell me I'm wrong, point me in the direction of a current debate on the subject of a flat earth, or Geo-centircity. People don't think these people are fools simply because they are. They think they are fools for believing in something that people think is too stupid to even bother discussing.

Is This The Solution To Immigration? Russell Brand The Trews (E117)

Bill O'Reilly at it again... aside from the fact that he's one of many trying to keep all of the brown people from coming in to his country, he uses the fucking Berlin wall, and Israel as a way to do it... This dude has seriously lost the plot.

Our atheists are better than yours

'I don't believe in god, but I'm not mad at him.' You can't be mad at something you don't believe in. I'm not mad at gremlins or trolls either. That's a pointless statement, a point that Christian people try and argue against atheists.

'I became an atheist because I'm not a joiner.' You can't disbelieve something because you are 'not a joiner'. This perpetuates the myth that atheism is a fad, a cult, or something you 'practice' with friends... another thing that Christians argue.

'...in many ways atheists act like a religious body...' Atheists try and limit the hold that religion has, and try and uphold the idea of separation of church and state. It is not a religion, but a lack there of.... yet another thing that Christians try and pin on atheists.

'There's another myth that conservatism is somehow hostile to atheism.' This is not a myth. Try getting elected pretty much anywhere in the U.S. while people know you are an atheist. You don't count, for reasons I will get into in a bit.

'...a healthy respect for the role of religion in society...' Concervatives are mainly Christians. Of course they have a 'healthy respect' for religion... as long as it's Christianity. Aside from yourself, I don't know of many 'concervative atheists'. I doubt, however, that many have that 'healthy respect' considering what Christianity, and the concervative party has been doing politically to the people of this nation.

'...hostility on the left against intelectual diversity...' The left tends to embrase all religions, colours, and creeds. Most don't care one way or another, as long as improvements are made. Concervatives try to close the borders, impede on the rights of women and faiths other than Christianity, and keep the minimum wage below the poverty level, not to mention degrade the education system with propaganda about overpaid teachers, over budgeting educational systems, and allowing the religious right to force Creationist mythology into our schools.

'Bill Mayer thinks that 90% of the world has a neurological disorder.' He's wrong, and most atheists will say so. It is a mental problem, however, much like mind control, or a phobia. He's also wrong (If it was him that used that number) about 90% of the world, as less and less of the world is proclaiming a religion. Outside of the general warzone areas, religion is pretty much a coin flip.

In conclusion... You are not an atheist. I hate to break it to you. You use arguments directly off of most Christian websites, and obviously favor religion in general. I don't believe for a second that you are an atheist. I believe you are a Poe, a fake. You are either working for the religious right to make atheism look bad, or doing so on your own behalf, or simply using the status as a publicity stunt. The blatant way that you use Christian anti-atheist propaganda says that you do this intentionally. You should be ashamed.

Notes From a Misogynist Pig

This is a response to a blog post by A Really Honest Introvert. In her post, she poses that if a guy is in love with a girl, and he befriends her, he is 'the worst misogynist because of their sense of entitlement toward a woman'. In other words, men who end up in the 'friend zone' are not really friends, and in fact, manipulative pricks trying to get in a girl's pants. If you have read this blog post, and agree, try, just for a moment, to think of things another way.

What if this man is that perfect fairy tale love? Perhaps he isn't the dashing prince on his white steed, but portrays all the other characteristics of the perfect guy, at least in your eyes. Is he funny? Perhaps. Does he care about you? Well, who's shoulder do you cry on? Who will sit and talk with you from dusk till dawn about all of your problems? Who in on your doorstep at three in the morning when you are home alone, and need someone to protect you from the scary noises? If you were at a party, and your boyfriend treats you like dirt, and refuses to drive you home, who is willing to walk through miles in a storm to see you to your home safely? If you know someone who fits these statements, maybe he isn't really your friend. Maybe he's just a misogynist prick trying to get in your pants. But... Maybe, just maybe, he's the man of your dreams, and you just don't know it yet.

I remember that feeling. It's been a long time since I could feel anything so strong for more than a few moments at a time. That was me on the phone all night, almost every night, while someone talked to me about everything and nothing. It was me who was the shoulder to cry on while someone went from boyfriend to boyfriend trying to find someone that wouldn't hit her, treat her like garbage, or do far worse. And yes, it was me in the blizzard of 96, dumb enough to think I could walk her home a town away knee deep in snow.
But why weren't you just 'upfront about your feelings'? Don't think I wasn't. There were signals, than blatant signals, and then I simply asked her out. She didn't want to 'ruin our friendship'. I suppose some of you think this is 'stalker creepy'. Believe as you will. I would like to pose a quick question to those people, however. If someone felt that way towards you, and did all the things I did when I was young, would you feel the same way you do now? If you do, is it possible that the guy who would obviously walk through fire for you isn't the problem? Is it possible that you simply don't feel like you deserve that much affection? Could you simply be scared at the idea of someone's emotions for you being that strong? Could you have a problem with your own emotions?

So next time you break up with some ass-hole that treats you like dirt, and you are sitting on the couch watching some cheesy love story, don't wonder 'why aren't there any guys like this in real life?'. Instead, look at the first few numbers on your speed dial.

Which friend might be your knight in shining armour?

700 Club on Why Atheists Should Hate Trees

Wow, what a dumb bitch. Trees are not the gods of Wicca. Also Wicca does not do nearly as much harm as Christianity, which is why Christianity is what is protested against. Also, Wiccans mind their own fucking business and don't interfere with the lives and freedoms of those from other religions. As an example, no Wiccan would protest or lobby against gay marriage.

Holy Hallucinations 30

None of the science matters. Creationists don't believe in evolution, not because of their god, or the lie that the facts are not their or stand against it. They don't believe in evolution because they can't comprehend anything that might take more than a few thousand years. They can't really comprehend the process of civility within the past 2000 years. They can't imagine that the sheep herders and barbarians who wrote the bible could have possibly been inferior to modern man.

So You Wanna Be An Atheist Eh?

Nobody becomes an Atheist because it's an 'in thing'. Much to the contrary, you will be ridiculed and left friendless in many peer groups. Abiogenesis is not an Achilles heal. It's something that science has not pinned down perfectly YET. The god of the gaps bit is getting old. Why do Theists have to go all the way back to THE DAWN OF LIFE to make their case? It doesn't matter if we know everything. Ignorance does not mean 'god did it'.

Commercial About Atheist Authors

--Maybe, we should all worship one god, and kill those who believe in any other gods, or none at all. We can this new movement the Crusades! We can find those who believe in more than one god, and burn them at the stake! We can torture those who don't believe in the same fables that we do, until they submit to our beliefs, or die. We can use the TV to tell our sheep that perfectly natural disasters devastating millions of lives is our god punishing the sinners!

We can go to impoverished countries riddled with Aids and tell them that our god doesn't want them to protect themselves. We can tell our women they must marry their rapists, and birth their offspring. We can make sure that only those who believe as we do are allowed to marry, and try to stop real science from being taught in our schools! We should replace this with say... our own creation myth!

@swimmerfish34 Isn't it funny how back you had to go to show just how evil Atheists are. Isn't it funny how I could name a number of atrocities happening this very day? Think about that before you answer.

'Are you a moron? Well, have I got a deal for you! For just 10% of your life savings, and loss of your free will, I can sell you this antique manuscript telling you all about the secrets of life and death, and who your master is!' (fine print) 'Must be over the age of 2 with an IQ no higher than the double digits. No guarantee of afterlife implied. We do not fully condone sacrificing animals, or children, or killing doctors or people who work on Sundays..'

Atheist teacher confronted

---I doubt seriously that was quoted from Einstein. Einstein was a Deist, not that a Christian would understand Deism. Either way, the whole idea is stupid. For one, there is no reason to believe a god exists, so calling him evil is simply redundant, though his character in the bible certainly is. Also, the very idea that believing in it makes you more moral is not only unfounded but disproven. Monotheists are known as the least moral (generally) than any other group of people.

Which do you think is the most dangerous religion?

If you had to choose one and only one religion to survive, which would you allow?
